Our IronTurner challenge for February was “Stemmed”. Our best in show winner was Ron Whedon with this miniature turnings.
Rudy Lopez Demo- November 3, 2011
We were blessed to have Rudy Lopez demonstrate his techniques for turning a Thin-walled Natural Edge Vessel at our November meeting. Rudy was on his way to Omaha on the 4th for a 5-day hands-on demo at the Omaha Woodturning club, but agreed to let our club participate in his “warm-up” session before he left town.
November 2011 Club Meeting “Show & Tell”
The tuning challenge was to make a bowl, but we were also fortunate to have a number of members bring in other turnings as well.
Club Holiday Craft Show at St Paul’s Church
October 2011 Club Meeting
Photos from our October meeting. The turning challenge was to make holiday ornaments particularly sea urchin ornaments. The best in show winner was Paul Veder’s Witch Sea Urchin Ornaments. The demo was a bowl skills night with Steve Marlow and Bob Winter. (Sorry Bob my camera ran out of juice before your portion of the demo).
April 2011 Club Meeting
Photos from the our April club meeting. The turning ch allege was turning a straw stem goblet. The challenge winner was Jim Mullen’s. The demo was by Vic Johnson on how to build and use a vacuum chuck.
